WELCOME TO ASYLUM LINK MERSEYSIDE

Asylum Link Merseyside – Current Situation

St Anne’s Centre opening Wednesday 28th August 2024

We’re pleased to say that we are now able to announce our re-opening for next Wednesday 28th August 2024.

We feel that now is the right time to open because:
– The police have been able to reassure us that their risk-assessment of far-right threat has now reduced significantly.
– We have been able to introduce a range of new safety and security procedures which make us confident that we are able to offer a safer service and a better experience for clients, volunteers and staff members.
– We are aware that many clients and volunteers are eager for our re-opening.

The timeline for re-opening is as follows:
Wednesday 28th August: Building opens. Casework, tea and coffee, music group, allotment, MRSN and GMIAU all open.
Thursday 29th August: clothes store, women’s group and choir all open.
Friday 30th August: destitution support open (we will message the relevant people).
Monday 2nd September: kitchen team and full lunches re-start. Board games group opens.
Tuesday 3rd September: bike repairs and bike club open.
Monday 16th September: new term starts for English classes (information on student registration coming shortly).

An important change for you to know now is that: the main entrance has now changed. The Overbury Street entrance will no longer be in use. People can access the building only through the back entrance, via Harbord Street and the car park. This is the new main entrance.
